How To

Step 1

Building Horizontal Support

Stage 1
  • Start by building the middle shelf.
  • The fitting used will be the Side Outlet Tee (681-604HC). The sides will use 12” pipe (584-120PE30HC) and the front and back will use 36” pipe (584-360PE30HC).
  • Making a square, attach the pipes to the Side Outlet Tees (681-604HC) as shown in above image. Make sure the vertical holes will not be blocked then tighten set screws.
  • Place a pipe in the vertical holes when sliding the other pipe in horizontally. This way you know the vertical holes will not be blocked.

Step 2

Installing Flanges and Legs

Stage 2
  • Install your Flanges (683-104HC).
  • If you have any concerns with the pipes not matching up when the Flanges (683-104HC) are installed then here is a little tip. When lining up the Flanges (683-104HC), place the pipes for the legs in the flanges, slide the base built in Stage 1 onto the legs then mark the Flange (683-104HC) holes. By doing this you are guaranteeing everything will line up once the Flanges (683-104HC) are installed.
  • Once the holes are marked remove the middle shelf base and the legs and pre-drill the holes.
  • Once the holes are pre-drilled, install the Flanges (683-104HC) using wood screws.
  • Slide the 18" pipe (584-180PE30HC) legs in the Flanges (683-104HC) and tighten set screws.

Step 3

Installing Horizontal Base

Stage 3
  • Slide the middle shelf onto the legs until centered or placed at desired height then tighten set screws.
  • Cap the bottom of the legs off with Flanges then tighten set screws.

Step 4

Placing Middle Wood Piece

Stage 4
  • Place the wood piece on the middle shelf.
  • Since this is specifically made for shoes it is not necessary to secure the wood to the pipe.
  • If there are concerns then you can use Offset Flanges (689-904HC) on each middle shelf pipe to secure the wood.
